Girls' Generation Tease a Full-Group Return With 2027 Season's Greetings

Girls' Generation's first all-eight Season's Greetings since 2017 has fans reading it as a 20th anniversary teaser. The post itself promises no comeback.

Girls’ Generation just put a full-group project on the table, and fans are already doing the math. On October 9, the group’s official X account posted an image captioned “Twenty in Frost.” Under it: “2027 Girls’ Generation Season’s Greetings.” All eight current members are in the photo.

That’s the detail that set fans off. It’s the first “OT8” Season’s Greetings since 2017. Merch goes up for preorder soon and ships in late 2026.

Here’s the caveat: the post says nothing about a comeback or a tour. Fans are reading this as a teaser anyway, and the timing gives them a reason. The group turns 20 next August. For their 15th, they released Forever 1 in August 2022. The last full comeback, according to Koreaboo, was five years ago.

The tour talk is the bigger hint. Last month, Tiffany and Yuri both seemed to point toward a Girls’ Generation world tour in 2027. A fan account shared a clip of Tiffany appearing to confirm Yuri’s statement. No official tour announcement appears in the sources, so treat that as hopeful reading for now.

My take: this is how an agency warms up a fan base before a big date. A 20th anniversary is the obvious place for a reveal, and small signals usually come first. If a comeback or tour lands next year, this release will look like the opening move. If nothing else follows, it’s still a strong release for the full eight-member lineup, and fans will take it either way.
